Patent Case Victory

FVLD recently won reversal of a patent case judgment against a long time client, which asked FVLD to take over the case after an adverse judgment was entered against the client in the trial court.  Faced with several issues of first impression, the court of appeals reversed the trial court’s findings that Travel Caddy, Inc.’s patents were unenforceable due to inequitable conduct and invalid due to obviousness.  FVLD lawyers Vance L. Liebman, Glenn A. Rice, Orley M. Desser and Seth A. Stern were on the brief.  The firm worked with patent counsel from Chicago’s Fitch Even Tabin and Flannery with Tim Maloney of that firm handling the oral argument.  The opinion can be found at: http://www.cafc.uscourts.gov/images/stories/opinions-orders/09-1171.pdf
